Fifth Third Bank to collect for Second Harvest Food Bank on SundayBring your canned goods to the match on Sunday to help the Second Harvest Food Bank
Orlando City has always had a commitment to the community of Central Florida. When it comes to our partner organizations and sponsors, we look for a similar commitment. Fifth Third Bank certainly fits the bill in that respect.
“Our partnership [with Orlando City] has provided us the opportunity to share Fifth Third Bank’s efforts with the Orlando City Soccer community which helps us expand our vision of being the one bank people most value and trust,” said Jacquie Tremblay, Marketing Project Manager for Fifth Third. Fifth Third Bank is the Game Day Sponsor for this Sunday’s match against Antigua Barracuda FC. Rather than simply focus on their company, Fifth Third will use this opportunity to highlight charitable causes - the Second Harvest Food Bank and Fifth Third Bank’s Summer of Dreams, a 10-week program offering homeless students in Orange, Seminole and Osceola counties two meals per day, activities, mentoring and school supplies, as well as financial counseling for their parents. Central Florida’s Second Harvest Food Bank will be onsite at the main entrance and will be collecting non-perishable food items and donations for Fifth Third Bank’s Summer of Dreams program. With the help of Orlando City Soccer fans, the food collected will go to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, who, in turn, will provide two meals a day for the homeless students that attend the summer camp. Everyone that donates a canned good will receive a coupon for 15% off merchandise at the match. In addition to providing meals, the Summer of Dreams gives local homeless children the chance to have some fun. Last summer, enough donations were collected to fund more than 1,000 students attend the 10-week program for free. This summer, the hope is to collect enough donations to surpass last year’s number of 1,078 students and extend the programs reach into Osceola and Seminole counties. Also at the game, Fifth Third Bank will be giving away soccer stress balls to the first 1,000 people who walk through the gate. The Fan Zone booth will also have an autographed Orlando City Soccer jersey and soccer ball signed by the team that will be given away during the game. Fans can enter to win either of these prizes in a raffle at the booth, which will be announced at the 70th minute of the game. Finally, Reagan Rick, the president & CEO for Florida Fifth Third Bank (Central and North Florida), will present the game ball during the pre-match ceremonies. Customers of Fifth Third Bank can buy tickets at the door and will receive a discount if they mention Fifth Third Bank. Tickets can be bought in advance by calling or emailing Orlando City Soccer and ask for the Fifth Third Bank discount. A portion of the proceeds from the tickets will go to support Fifth Third Bank’s Summer of Dreams. Don't forget to bring your donation to help Fifth Third Bank and Second Harvest Food Bank provide food and fun for the homeless students of Central Florida!
